An off-dry cabernet rosé
Recognised as an appellation d'origine contrôlée in 1964, Cabernet d'Anjou is a rosé made exclusively from cabernet franc and cabernet-sauvignon, mainly south of Angers. It is a tender rosé, off-dry or even mellow, retaining a touch of sugar — its signature — and ranks among the most produced and best-loved rosés in France.
The style of the wines
With a deep pink hue, it charms with its fruitiness — strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant — and a sweetness balanced by a freshness that keeps it from being overly sweet. It is served well chilled, as an aperitif, with spicy dishes or fruity desserts. A wine of immediate pleasure, best drunk within two years, though the finest examples improve a little with time.
