Corbières Boutenac — terroir, soils & grape varieties

In Aude, between Carcassonne and Narbonne, Boutenac's vineyards surround the Pinada massif. The appellation, recognised in 2005 as Corbières Boutenac, is reserved for red wines.

Around Pinada

The Pinada massif rises to 273 metres. Three watercourses delimit this hilly landscape, occupied by vines, pine trees and garrigue.

Well-drained soils

The low-fertility soils allow deep rooting. The Mediterranean climate and hills protect the vineyards from maritime influences; the north-westerly wind marks this sector of the Corbières.

A recognised identity

Growers obtained recognition for Corbières Boutenac in 2005. The name Boutenac appears in the production rules approved in 2022.
