Côte de Brouilly — terroir, soils & grape varieties

Côte de Brouilly is a red Beaujolais cru established on the slopes of Mont Brouilly. Its appellation has been recognised since 1938.

The slopes of Mont Brouilly

The area lies in the department of Rhône, between Villefranche-sur-Saône and Mâcon, around forty kilometres north of Lyon. Vines occupy the slopes of Mont Brouilly, detached from the eastern edge of the Monts du Beaujolais.

A Beaujolais cru

Côte de Brouilly is one of the ten Beaujolais crus. It covers Cercié, Odenas, Quincié-en-Beaujolais and Saint-Lager, with exposures facing in all directions.
