Reuilly — terroir, soils & grape varieties

A small appellation of the Central Loire straddling the Indre and the Cher, Reuilly expresses sauvignon in white and pinot (noir and gris) in red and rosé. Its pinot gris rosés, delicate and rare, make it a distinctive signature.

On the edge of the Central Loire

To the west of the Central Loire vineyard, Reuilly stretches across seven communes shared between the Indre and the Cher. It is a small appellation that produces all three colours: white from sauvignon, red from pinot noir, and above all a pinot gris rosé that has made its reputation.

Terroir and style

The soils combine sandy-gravelly terraces and clay-limestone hillsides over Kimmeridgian marls. On this base, sauvignon yields bright, lively whites, with aromas of citrus and grapefruit; pinot noir, supple, fruity reds; and pinot gris, rosés of great delicacy, fresh and easy-drinking — the appellation's trump card.
