Cinsault
A grape variety of finesse in the South of France, cinsault produces light reds and delicate rosés. Low in tannins and aromatic, it is one of the great architects of Provence rosés and a blending grape that brings suppleness and freshness.
The aromatic profile
Cinsault charms with a tender fruitiness of strawberry, raspberry and grenadine, with floral notes and sometimes peach in rosé. It is a fresh, easy-drinking grape variety, with delicate aromas and no heaviness.
Structure, terroir and table
Low in tannins, resistant to heat and drought, it tempers the power of grenache and syrah in southern French blends, bringing suppleness and aroma. In rosé, it gives pale, fine, thirst-quenching wines — a pillar of the rosés of Provence and the Languedoc. It is best drunk young, well chilled, with summer cooking.
